My baby, Natalie, wants to thank you! She has been getting rave reviews on how cute she is and how unique her birth announcement is as well. She is so proud that she laughs and laughs some more every minute she is awake. Nat, as we have already started to call her, has been asking me when she can send out another card with her picture on it. I am kidding of course, but I cannot help thinking the special attention and praise she gets conjures images of things to come and she senses it. After all, it doesn’t take a casting director to recognize she is perfect for the part she plays.
But if your baby is far from camera shy like my baby Natalie is, let me tell you what I am doing for every three months of her first year. Each quarter beginning with the day she was born, the pictures we take are going to go into a series of baby photobooks. At her birthday, when she turns one, she will have four volumes commemorating all the changes she grew into and the memorable times she had during her first twelve months in our family.
A baby photo book is a world apart and yet not to far removed from an old fashioned photo album. In my mind, it is a brilliant improvement. What this new and contemporary style has that the photo albums of old lacked is permanent mounting of the photos on the pages that “can’t,” I repeat, “CAN’T” fall off. No more glue that dries up and over the years makes the pictures come loose only to become lost. The photo stays put because it is part of the paper itself just like a regular book. I am in love with this process. Technology is magnificent and Modern Greetings knows how to use it.
Can you even imagine how grateful our grandmothers would have been to have this kind of craft at their fingertips? The benefit for them would have been the saving of hours they spent mounting family and baby photographs only to have to redo them a few years later. Not born in the digital age, how could they or anyone born a generation or two ago even dream the distance photography would travel? But we are here now and I recommend a baby photobook or a dozen baby photo books for every new parent on the planet while experiencing the fun of reliving every moment in every picture as you visit the MG website and put it all together. Enjoy!

A new baby is coming! We need to tell the world and celebrate! Carol and Henry have been waiting to have their first baby for at least three years. Eight months ago they became pregnant with their first baby, a boy. And now he is soon to make a grand entrance into the world.
In just one short month, this wonderful couple gets their chance at parenthood and becoming the most caring and loving parents any child could ever have. If I could only tell their little baby son to “Hold on tight little one because you are going places with the most loving mommy and daddy any baby could have!”
Carol and Henry are serious people who love and enjoy the hallmarks of a life well lived. Curious and savvy, they delight in the hard-earned success of others and are always the ones to give the baby shower, wedding shower, and housewarming or celebration party for friends. That is why this new baby of theirs makes it our time as friends to celebrate them and the angel about to arrive in their home.
We are planning a fabulous baby shower complete with group gifts of stroller, carrier, high chair and crib. There will be about fifty couples at the shower which means a lot of food, stories, music and laughter. Everyone has known one another for years and this baby has been so long in coming that we are eager to make this occasion into a treasured memory. As you might imagine, Modern Greetings has contributed to the baby theme. Carol has already chosen the baby’s birth announcements from the MG’s website. This makes it easy to order matching baby shower invitations. The natural and expected color for them is blue. Specifically, Carol wants to go with light sky blue. With touches of brown and the emphasis of an eyelet design, they are timeless in style and classically simple. All ordered, I should see them in just a few short days then the addressing begins. Tomorrow, I am starting on the menu, seating, videographer and music—all the things Carol and Henry enjoy in a party. Everyone wants this long-awaited baby to have a reception that is uniquely his.
April 19th, 2012 Julia is expected to arrive sometime within the next two weeks. She is our precious adopted baby daughter. Jim, my husband, and I have been waiting for this moment for the last two and a half years. Finding out we couldn’t have our own children was a crushing blow. Then when we opened our hearts and minds to adoption, another two years had to pass to get us to this moment.
We are completely ready for the birth of our little baby girl. We have met the birth mother, a beautiful teenage girl who very much wants to do the right thing by the baby she found herself carrying when she was way to young to provide for a child. After she talked to several prospective parents, she chose us to be her baby’s parents. Not only are we ecstatic, we are blessed to have been chosen by her. Finding out she was having a girl, she let us name her before being born. It has been thrilling and we pray all will go perfectly for everyone.
We have decorated her nursery around her name and have the birth announcements (we found at Modern Greetings) picked out and on standby for this little angels newborn statistics. As soon as she is here in our arms, we will complete the order and get them in the mail within hours. Our friends are anticipating her birth almost as much as we are I think. We are dying to shout the news from the rooftops and introduce this precious bundle off to the world. And yes, the announcements are pink with lime green accents and brown ink. The same colors as her nursery, buggy, car seat liner and much of her baby wardrobe so far. I am a sucker for pink and having a baby daughter gives me all the latitude I need to go whole hog with my favorite color and everything feminine.
It seems impossible that after all of this time, Jim and I are about to be Mommy and Daddy. I still can hardly believe it.

Suzanna, my baby daughter is doing things like rolling over, talking and laughing, reaching for her toy that crinkles and screaming loudly when her diaper needs changing. I mean seriously, this wee little one knows what she wants when she wants it and how to get it. For only being four months old she rules our house and we love it.
All of her changes and my desire to write a children’s book came together today as I was watching Suzanna roll from her back to her tummy and get on all fours—her hands and knees—and rock like she was going to take off crawling. My days are numbered I’m afraid. This little one is soon going to be all over the place. You know, she has become my inspiration for creating a children’s book with her being the star.

OK, you got my attention. I’m writing because I just signed up to get your free Modern Greetings photo book and your invitation to your launch party. It’s all kind of interesting for a website to do a party. I’m curious how you are going to do this. I think it is fantastic and a great idea for a “Website Opening.” So count me in!
Free giveaways always get my attention and I think it speaks volumes about the store when they offer them and they are quality. Whenever I see free offers, I check them out. You never know what you might get that leads you to a really good resource.
I can hardly wait to be able to put together the free photo book.

Grandson Liam was 1 last Wednesday. On the weekend, his parents, my son, Alex, and his wife, Dora, gave him a huge birthday party for little people and their parents. In my mind, birthday parties for a one year old are more a reason for parents to get together with their friends because what one year old remembers their first birthday party? But I’ve got to tell you it was loads of fun and Liam had a great time with all the other toddlers.
My daughter-in-law is unbelievably talented and creative. As a fashion designer, she comes up with creative ideas that blow your mind and they have the money that she can go anywhere she wants to get party invitations, but what she created at your website were show stoppers. Liam’s birthday invitations were like none I have ever seen anywhere. They were all boy, exactly what Liam is. A rough and tumble little guy that loves trucks, balls, hot wheels and trying to run faster than his little legs can barely carry him. These invitations said Liam all over. I wish everyone could see them.
Dora, his mom, put red and blue balls on the front with a yellow truck in the center and his name, Liam, in the middle of that. Inside were a tricycle and all the necessary party info for his big day. So cute and original in all the bright primary colors just like the streamers, balloons, cake and confetti decorating the backyard.
Honestly, she is the cleverest mom. Always thinking of fun ideas and she tells me Modern Greetings is the best site she’s ever seen or used for creating whatever she has in mind. Because of her, I’m going to be using Modern Greetings for the three luncheons I’m giving in late spring with Dora’s ideas and help.

Ali, my best friend from college is getting married and I am her Maid of Honor. It is the first time I’ve been a Maid-of-Honor and I’m finding there is far more responsibility connected to it than I thought. Ali is one of those girls (well, I guess we are really women now that we’ve reached a certain age, but in my mind we are still girls) that everyone loves and everyone invites to go everywhere. She is loved by everyone and she loves them right back so I’m really excited she chose me for her Maid-of-Honor.
Anyway, what with all of the parties going on to honor her, I’m invited to them all. It’s really a blast to go to so many things, but it also is tough to think of a different gift each time. The latest shower doesn’t have any category of gift giving so it makes it either easier or harder. I can’t quite decide which it is. But I do know I always like to be original and unique.
In talking to my mother about something truly different, she suggested a whole ensemble of personalized paper products. I loved the idea so we went to the local stationer to pick them out and we were stunned at how much it was going to cost to have something that I was going to be proud to give and would reflect Ali’s taste. In fact, I was discouraged when I left the store because the whole package exceeded my budget way too much. I thought there just had to be a better source. Feeling down in the dumps over the whole thing, when I got home I went online just to see what I would find with the hope there would be a way to do what I wanted to do but have it be much more affordable.
After about fifteen minutes of several Google searches and looking at many websites, Modern Greetings popped up. I could tell they were new because I was seeing tools that I hadn’t seen before and product of a quality that was better than any other. It didn’t take me long to select almost exactly what I saw at the nearby stationers shop and have it be nearly half the price. In no time my shopping cart at Modern Greetings was full with personalized stationery, thank you cards, envelopes, address labels and gift tags all in the crème color Ali enjoys the most and suits the tradition of a wedding.
When I checked out and paid for my order, I was feeling the best relief in knowing this was a great gift that suited my best friend to a “T.” For positive, she is going to be truly happy with such a practical and beautiful gift. I’m so glad I went the online route.

My boyfriend, Robert, and I returned from a grand trip to China last week with more pictures than you can even imagine. Since I’m the photographer for a living, Robert wants me to go through them and pick out the best ones. There are hundreds upon hundreds that we took. It makes me tired just thinking about sorting through all of them. If only, that part was already done because assembling them is the part I’m really excited about.
Because of Modern Greetings, I saw what they had in the way of travel photo books before we even left on our trip and knew that I would be putting our favorite shots into one of their classy photobooks once I got home. You know, they have such a great system of tools to design one of the most sophisticated journals anyone could possibly want. I’ll be able to position the photos with or without frames, with any color scheme I choose as I move from page to page then write my own captions that personalize the shots just for us.
But one of the most exciting parts that came home with us is our plan to get married next summer in Switzerland. Between now and then we will be announcing our engagement and will do it with a printed announcement using one of our favorite pictures from the China trip. And once again, we are using, you, Modern Greetings to make and order our engagement announcement and invitation to the party our parents are having for us here in our hometown of New Orleans.
We love to travel to interesting places and having Modern Greetings handy to keep us organized for any occasion, event or special moment makes our life just that much more fun and easy. Now we are recording it all so we can share the memories with each other and family forever. I can’t say enough how much the ease of using your website has drawn me to your online service. Thanks so much.
February 16th, 2012 Everyone our age it seems is having babies and we are right in there with them. The difference between most of them and us is that we have chosen not to know whether we are having a girl or a boy baby. Our friends who are asking to be told the sex of their baby think we are nuts, but we want to go along with the old fashioned way of being surprised the moment that little bundle is put in our arms. Not knowing is so very exciting for us and not going along with either all pink or all blue we just like a lot.
We’ve got the nursery planned for soft yellow and lime green. Then when he or she is born we’ll accent with touches of either pink or blue. Already we are getting from family the little tiny layette items in white, purple, green and yellow. It is so exciting!
I am in my 8th month and looking forward to the couple’s baby shower that is being given for us by our best friends, Dave and Susan. It is so sweet of them especially since their baby is just 9 months old. The baby shower invitations went out and they did an incredible job of choosing a great one. I liked it so much that I asked Susan where they found them. They weren’t like any I had ever seen and I was thinking it would be perfect to find birth announcements that were similar. When she said she ordered them from Modern Greetings online, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve not been one to do much of this kind of shopping over the internet. I don’t know why. I think I’ve just been afraid that anything as personal as printed paper product was risky to order without seeing a hard copy example ahead of time. But Susan’s Modern Greetings ordering changed all of that.
I’ve begun already to look through their website, baby magazines, and baby books to get a clear design in my head. Once I have that, I’ll get the birth announcement started and finish it once the baby comes. Hopefully, they will arrive soon after baby and I get home from the hospital and while he or she is quietly sleeping in the little bed next to me, I can get them addressed and into the mail. We are so excited to share our tiny baby with everyone we love.

Ordinary just won’t do. Next month will be the anniversary celebration that goes beyond all other celebrations at least in our family. Everything is going to be perfect beginning with the invitations. My parents will be married 50 years on February 14th. Yes, you read that right! Their wedding anniversary is Valentine’s Day. My brothers, sisters and I are planning a huge party in their honor to be held at the Biltmore Hotel. It was completely ironic the other night watching the Betty White 90th Birthday Special on TV. I couldn’t believe it when I saw where they were. They were in the very same room we are having my parents big party in just a few short weeks. It is a beautiful spot and we’ve been planning this for what seems like forever.
I wanted to write and tell you, Modern Greetings, that ordering the anniversary invitations from you was the best decision we could have possibly made. We were able to personalize them in every way from the use of Mom’s favorite color to making them look as close to their wedding invitation from so long ago as possible. Since we knew this would be way too hard to keep as a surprise, they have seen and enjoyed the invitations right along with the 130 guests we are expecting to come. We have even ordered special notepads with Mom’s and Dad’s names and the year they got married to go with matching pens and to be placed at each place setting along with a collection five songs from those long ago years printed on a set of postcards. After dinner we will be having a sing-along that is sure to have Mom and Dad and all of their friends singing at the top of their lungs and probably shedding a few tears along the way.
There is still much to do, but getting the invitations out and the responses coming in with an unbelievable amount of excitement and enthusiasm is so much fun for all of us siblings. We have the very best parents in all the world and we are over-the-moon about having this tribute for them. So glad we came to you to get out planning started.
